Motorsport bookmakers Watch As Honda Aims For 3rd Dakar Win

21/12/21

- Grant Whittington

Fans and motorsport bookmakers that are familiar with the Dakar Rally know that it has a scary reputation for a reason. The event was first held in 1979 and is widely known as the most gruelling motorsport event in the world. Though, a significant change that occurred in 2020 is the moving of the event from South America to Saudi Arabia. Either way, fans are already anticipating the 2022 tournament, especially given that Monster Energy Honda has already announced its team.

New online bookies know that Monster Energy Honda has, of course, already won the Dakar Rally motorcycle division two times in a row. The team is naturally more than ready to win a third consecutive year, though it is certainly far too early to make any predictions of this sort. But, given that January 2nd has been confirmed as the kickoff date, and the end of the year is quickly drawing near, there isn’t much waiting left before the action gets going.

The names that will be representing Honda include Pablo Quintanilla, Ricky Brabec, José Ignacio Cornejo, and Joan Barreda.

Overcoming Previous Challenges

Brabec shared a few thoughts. He first said that he is looking forward to the Dakar Rally, though pointed out that the team had tried, and failed, to win another tournament in 2021. He went on to explain that much had been learned during the failure, and as such training has been extra focused in the lead up to 2022.

He went on to explain that he is determined to be the overall winner at the rally, but that this by extension means that his teammates will have to settle for second place. Though, he clarified, in his view as along as any Honda member is on the podium, it will count as a win for the entire team and for motorsport bookmakers.

And Honour To Participate

Quintanilla, the newest member of the group, shared a few thoughts of his own. He first said that he is honoured to have been accepted and is happy to be amongst teammates that he respects. He pointed out that he has been searching for a team for many years and is happy to finally be amongst other riders that share his vision.

He elaborated that there are many things a rider can do to prepare but stressed that a big part of preparation is having the right team, and the right bike. He concluded simply by saying that he is determined to win and will give 100% when the time comes to perform. New motorsport bookies will be keep a close eye on his progress.
