New Bookmakers Horse Racing Sites Watching Frankie Dettori

- Grant Whittington

Champion rider Frankie Dettori has his spot booked for this year’s Breeder’s Cup Distaff on 5 – 6 November. It’s now been confirmed he’ll be riding Argentine Outsider Blue Stripe in the premium event and new bookmakers horse racing markets are sure to offer great odds for the event.

The filly booked a start at the Del Mar race when she won the Gran Premio Criadores in Palermo. The May event is considered a “win and qualify” feature for the Breeder’s Cup.

The four-year-old Blue Stripe is a half-sibling to Blue Prize, who won the Distaff in 2019. The filly has reigned victorious in four of her six starts back home. Trained by Nicolas Martin Ferro, she’s now stabled by Santa Anita-based Marcelo Polanco for the duration of her trip to the US.

Fourth Time Hopefully A Charm

Polanco, who confirmed Blue Stripe and Dettori’s partnership this week, said owner Jose Cerillo had apparently been in contact with the rider for competing in the Cup.

Dettori ranks fourth on the Breeder’s Cup’s list of jockeys. The 2021 edition of the famous event will be his 29th. In the Distaff itself, he’s participated three times. Two of those rides saw him finishing in fourth place – on Crimplene (Clive Brittain) in 2000, and on Stellar Jayne (Godolphin) in 2005.

According to Ferro, Blue Stripe has been an easy horse to acclimatise and new bookmakers horse racing fans need to take note of this. She arrived in the US in May. She’s trained in both Santa Anita, where she’s stabled, as well as in Del Mar, he confirmed. He said he had no complaints about willingness nor performance, and that he hopes the filly continues in like fashion for the duration of her time in the US.

Blue Strip “No Outsider”

Ferro, who said he happens to be very familiar with the Del Mar race, said Blue Stripe isn’t expected to disappoint, especially not at new betting sites. He said she’s a professional, and if she runs on the day the way she’s been training, she should be a competitive race participant.

Ladbrokes has placed Blue Stripe at odds of 20-1 for the Distaff. Letruska, meanwhile, is the 6-4 race favourite.

Polanco said despite her allotted odds, he doesn’t consider Blue Stripe to be an outsider. The trainer will be saddling his first Breeder’s Cup in 16 years.

Letruska Ready To Run

Race favourite Letruska finished her preparations for the $2 million Distaff on the weekend.

She’s a winner of seven starts in 2021, which included the Juddmonte Spinster on October 10. According to trainer Fausto Gutierrez, everything has gone superbly well for Letruska since her participation in the Spinster. She’s raced at seven tracks in the United States since her arrival from Mexico back in 2019 and is one to watch at new bookmakers horse racing sites.
