22/12/21

- Grant Whittington

Arnold Hur has recently made headlines in the spotting world after being promoted from Chief Operating Officer of the renowned eSports organisation, Gen.G, to Chief Executive Officer. This has followed directly after Chris Park, the previous CEO, announced that he would be stepping down to act in an advisory role, rather than a leading one. New online bookies who offer bets in this market are now keeping watch to s what happens next.

A Stellar Reputation

Kevin Chou, Chairman of Gen.G has since been singing Hur’s praises, stating that the stellar Gen.G employee has built incredible momentum around the organisation. And that he has managed to capitalise on many exciting game-changing opportunities that have emerged.

He also has a deep understanding and passion for the community around eSports so is the best man for the job.

Mr Chou’s praises were mainly in reference to Hur’s already considerable reputation at Gen.G, where during his tenure as COO, he oversaw much of the organisation's eSports team operations, as well its “strategic definition”.

Future Plans For Gen.G

Throughout 2021, Gen.G has been making great expansive efforts in the higher-learning and grassroots sectors of eSports. This has largely been aided through collaboration with certain institutes such as the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, and Eastern Michigan University in the US.

Alongside such ventures, Gen.G has also secured valuable partnerships, such as Galorants, the all-female VALORANT community, and also extended a highly lucrative deal with PUMA.

Hur’s job will now be to take what has been established and gained so far and build upon it. Quick to act, Hur has already stated his plans to focus on developing Gen.G’s fledgling eSports training programme player teams who excel in LoL and other games, along with creating several new initiatives surrounding their partnerships and growing fan-base.

The Right Man For The Job

In a recent interview, Hur said that he was very excited by the cultural impact the organization he was joining has had on the industry. And that the global community that’s been built for players, fans, and business partners is incredibly impressive.

He says that he has a firm belief that you can’t build community without conversation. Now, he is excited for the opportunity to engage more with the community to develop the next chapter of the already-burgeoning TigerNation fan community.

With his solid and unwaveringly practical outlook and his great experience and in-depth knowledge of eSports, CEO Arnold Hur is expected to play a major role in the continued success and impressive rate of growth of Gen.G achieved over 2021. Of that, there is, all-around, very little doubt and new online bookies will agree.
